Pioneers of Tomorrow welcomes Box4Kids
The Barrie Wells Trust and Farnborough International Airshow came together on Friday 22 July 2022 for the third time to put on their biggest Box4Kids event to date.
Box4Kids is a nationwide initiative inviting seriously ill and disabled children to enjoy VIP experiences in executive boxes at major sporting and entertainment events. Guests were welcomed by Accenture, Embraer, ATI and Deutsche Aircraft, who supported the charity by donating hospitality spaces. These spaces provided a safe environment for children, away from crowds, making it an ideal environment to make children feel special for the day.
The Trust collaborated with donors to create a spectacular VIP Day for over 120 guests. Children and their families had fast track entry to exhibitions, visits from American pilots and views of the air display from the comfort of a VIP chalet – all thanks to our amazing donors. After all of this, children headed home smiling with their amazing goodie bags provided by Farnborough International Airshow.
Nine-year-old George attended with his mum Jo, dad Ben and carer Pauline. Jo told the Trust, ‘We had a truly fabulous and memorable day at FIA. It’s all about making memories and creating possibilities and having accessibility to such amazing events. George’s highlight was meeting the pilots. We feel very honoured to have been a part of the day.’
The Barrie Wells Trust hosts hundreds of VIP events for deserving children like George every year. The work we do would not be possible without the generosity of box donors around the UK. If you have a private box or hospitality space that could help the Trust make a special event for a deserving child then we would love to hear from you.
