Panel: The New and Expanding Space Economy
- Wednesday, 24 July 2024
- 10:30 - 11:20
-
Location: Hall 1 - Lloyd Boardroom
What will be the true scale and reach of the space economy? The aim of this session is to bring data-backed and industry-informed view on reach of the space-enabled economy: including the core space economy (think launch vehicles, satellites, etc.) and the broader value unlocked by access to space (e.g.GPS navigation, improvement of agriculture crop yields).
This session would have wide appeal to anyone involved in space (space company leaders, investors) or whose business may be touched by space (e.g., diversified aerospace suppliers). By sharing and discussing a fact base on the growth of the space economy we hope to spark spirited debate on the sector’s outlook and, accordingly, help aerospace leaders, nations, and other space leaders shape their strategies.
The session will build on work underway as collaboration between McKinsey and the World Economic Forum, with early 2024 slated publish date. McKinsey and WEF will publish an additional deep dive building on that research which will be published during FIA2024.
